celebrating a decade of 200!

January 2012

ten logo2012 is an exciting year for many reasons; the London Olympics, the supposed end of the world as we know it and twohundredby200 celebrates its 10th birthday!

200 have been creating great design over the past decade and to celebrate the studio will giving clients, friends, supporters and readers some special treats over the course of this very special year.

Sean Makin, the founder of the studio said:

"It is hard to believe that twohundredby200 is 10 years old already! It has been both challenging and exciting in equal measures and, thanks to our dedicated and talented team, the future  is looking fantastic for the studio.

“We have come a long way from working on small one-off jobs in the corner of a basement to today being a truly multi-facetted studio capable of undertaking even the  most demanding  of creative projects with ease.

“I don’t think we would have been able to develop into the studio that we are today without the tremendous support of our clients, friends and families we have had along the way. We have been extremely fortunate and I hope that they will all be able to join us in celebrating this milestone in the studios life. Look out for news of giveaways, competitions and events and help us party through 2012 in style."

a bit of style...

November 2011

websiteThe 200 team have struck again and launched yet another website and this time it is for the creative team at the Hope Hairdressing salon in Dunfermline. The studio designed the previous website for the salon and were happy to be asked to undertake the redesign.

The design of the website reflects the clean cut and stylish lines of the salon interior and makes use of some stunning photography shot by Eamonn McGoldrick of one photography. The main website content is backed up with a mobile friendly version for those users on the move. You can view the website at www.hopehairdressing.com

a gift for life...

November 2011

booklettwohundredby200 were recently commissioned to design a promotional insert for the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland.

The design brief for the overall design stated that the imagery should reflect the key message of the promotion - 'A Gift for Life' - with the aim to encourage current members of the society to gift membership to family or friends.

The 200 team decided to opt for composite imagery instead of using photography as previous material allowing the various different aspects of the society to be reflected in a strong and easily identifiable manner.

going on display...

November 2011

display kitCooper Software asked twohundredby200 to create a selection of display and promotional material for an industry event they were attending.

The work covered the design of a pop-up display stand as well as two banner stand units to help convey their core values to potential clients. It was decided that the design should reflect the company's own website using bold imagery relating to the key sectors that the firm covers.

A booklet was also produced in a similiar style containing case studies of the various key clients that have been served by the specialist firm.

Rural Projects get the 200 touch...

October 2011

websiteYet another website launched in October by twohundredby200!

twohundredby200 were approached by events management company, Rural Projects, with a request to create them a new website to further promote the huge range of event services that they offer their clients.

As the 200 studio already works closely with the company on some of the events that Rural Projects manage, the task of designing a new website for them was a very quick and painless process for all involved with the resultant website offering exactly what the client asked for and much more.

The website is updated using the Adobe Contribute CMS package which fits into the company's existing workflow without the need for re-training or down time in their update schedule. You can visit the Rural Projects website at www.ruralprojects.co.uk

new streamlined website for the Wickerman Festival

October 2011

websiteTo signify the launch of the first 2012 tickets going on sale, twohundredby200 launched the new website for The Wickerman Festival.

The studio has worked closely with the festival for several years across mulitple branding and promotional projects. The new site is more streamlined than the prevous design (also designed by 200) to allow users to get to the content they want to view quickly and easily. Before embarking on the redesign, a survey of the site's web traffic was carried out over the course of three months. The information gained, allowed the streamlining of the new design to be carried out without the fear of upsetting users when it launched.

The Wickerman Festival will celebrate its 11th year across two days next summer, 20th and 21st July, and promises an eclectic music line-up and exciting arts and entertainment for all ages. Past years have seen tens of thousands of revellers enjoy a winning mix of acts. You can visit the Wickerman Festival website at www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk

branding & website unveiled for St Abbs Marine Station

September 2011

websitetwohundredby200 has recently unveiled the branding and website created by the design studio for the St Abbs Marine Station.

It was important that the identity reflected the organisation in a way that showed the highly specialised and focused approach to marine research. A simple design theme was developed which formed the basis of the identity. The final design of the core identity allows for its use across mulitple media as well as projects. This approach has been echoed in the design of the website which will grow alongside the station itself and will gradually incorporate video updates and various other educational and research material..

Sean Makin of twohundredby200 said " The process of creating the brand identity and website for SAMS has been hugely enjoyable and I look forward to working with the marine station team on future projects."
